After graduating,they can apply for a work visa (known as the Z visa), which requiresa minimum of two years of work experience. However, in somecases, there are exceptions, such as in the area ofteaching in China, which recruits English teachers through 12programs per month.

Ifyou are applying for a Chinese visa for the first time, you shouldprovide your previous Chinese passport and a photocopy of its datapage. If you have obtained Chinese visas before and want to apply fora Chinese visa with a renewed foreign passport that does not containany Chinese visa, you should present the photocopy of the previouspassport’s data page and the photo page, if it is separate, aswell as the previous Chinese visa page. (If your name on the currentpassport differs from that on the previous one, you must provide anofficial document of name change.)

1.Theapplicant should guarantee that all information provided in theapplication is true and correct. Any false, misleading or incompleteinformation may result in the denial of the visa or refusal of entryinto China.

Thenew work regulations for foreign graduates and holders of foreigndegrees in China make it easier for international students to stayand work in that country. This measure is the latest in China’sstrategy to position itself as a study destination and attract talentto help globalise its workforce.

Accordingto the new regulations announced on January 6 by the Ministries ofHuman Resources and Social Security, Foreign Affairs and Education,foreign graduates with a master’s degree or higher from auniversity in China are immediately eligible to apply for work visaswithin the year following their graduation. Similarly, foreigngraduates with a master’s degree or higher from “overseasrecognised universities” can seek graduate jobs in China withinthe year following graduation. Previous regulations requiredinternational students and students with foreign degrees to have aminimum of two years of work experience outside of China. Andthis precondition prevented international graduates from moving fromschool to work.

Accordingto the Ministry of Education, in 2015, 390,000 international studentsstudied in China. The country is taking steps to increase itsparticipation in students around the world, including the increase inthe number of degrees taught in English at Chinese universities,which, according to MastersPorta,l are now 327, including 143 degreesand 184 master’s programs, mainly in Business Administrationand STEM, in 105 universities.

Toapply for a one-year work visa, foreign students must have guaranteedemployment with a Chinese company in a field that matches theirdegree, meets the demands of local skills and offers a salaryadjusted to market standards. Must be over 18 years old, have anaverage of a B grade (80%) or higher and have no criminal record.
